Overview

In August 2023, Roewe launched a thorough modernization of its existing model offer, presenting the first new product with a name starting with the letter "D". The D7 debuted in two drive variants in parallel, differing in the styling of the front fascia.[1]

A universal feature for the entire range is the long, slim silhouette with a gently sloping roofline and narrow, aggressively shaped rear lamps. In addition to the arched line of windows, the manufacturer also used, among others: retractable door handles. The electric variant also gained distinctive visual features: double-row headlights and a pointed bumper, strongly resembling the styling language of the competing NIO.[2]

Both variants use the same luxurious and minimalist design of the passenger cabin with the dominance of white materials and two 12.3-inch screens forming digital clocks and a multimedia system. Adaptive cruise control, a panoramic glass roof and single-zone air conditioning are also standard. Under the hood, the electric variant gained a small trunk.[3]

D7 DMH

The diesel-electric variant received an additional "DMH" part in its name and a different front fascia design. It was decided to use integrated, single and larger headlight lenses with a teardrop, soaring shape. In addition, the lower edge of the bumper is formed by a large air inlet for cooling the drive unit. The combustion engine is combined with two electric motors, offering 125 kilometers of range in electric mode and up to 1,400 kilometers of range in mixed mode.[4]

Specifications

The purely electric version of the D7 develops 207 HP of power using one engine, working with two variants of the battery supplied by CLTC. The larger one offers up to 510 kilometers of range, while the top one offers up to 610 kilometers of range.[5]
