His playing name was changed to T-Okada in 2009, as to prevent name confusion to then newly hired manager Akinobu Okada, which the following season he finished with 33 home runs, the most in Pacific League, so he opted to keep it, despite Akinobu Okada leaving the team in 2012.

Despite Orix's Japan Series victory in 2022, Okada had one of his lower hitting years, only finishing the year with a .133 batting average, a single home run, while still driving in 10 runs, and only playing in 36 games.
