Taleqan

Taleqan (Persian: طالقان, also Romanized as Ṭâleqân)[3] is a city in the Central District of Taleqan County, Alborz province, Iran, and serves as capital of the county.[4] It is located in the Alborz mountain range.

At the 2006 census, its population was 3,281 in 988 households, when it was in Tehran province.[5] At the time of the latest census in 2016, its population had increased to 3,545 in 1,241 households, by which time the county had separated from the province and become a part of recently established Alborz province.[2]
