Yanqaq

Yanqaq (Persian: ينقاق, also Romanized as Yanqāq; also known as Banqāq)[3] is a city in Yanqaq Rural District of the Central District of Galikash County, Golestan province, Iran.

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 4,600 in 1,013 households, when it was in the former Galikash District of Minudasht County.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 4,073 people in 1,085 households, by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Galikash County.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 3,919 people in 1,143 households. It was the largest village in its rural district.[2]
