Name

Paracanthocobitis urophthalma (Günther, 1868)

Syntypes: BMNH 1864.7.11.35-36 (2).

Type locality: South Ceylon.

Etymology: uro- (= tail); opthalmus (= eye), referring to black white-edged ocellus (eyespot) on base of upper caudal lobe.
