Alburnoides recepi Turan et al., 2014

  • Holotype: FFR 01101.
  • Paratypes: FFR 01050 (47); CMK 20317 (6).

Type locality: Turkey, Gaziantep Province, Merzimen Stream, Euphrates River drainage, 37°24’57"N, 37°43’06"E .

Etymology: In their article, the authors claim that the species is named after some Recep Buyurucu, who has reportedly contributed greatly to the sampling for the authors for many years. However, in the Turkish press and social media it is widely commented that the name is given after Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
