- Type locality: VENEZUELA: Rancho Grande Estacion, 1200 m, Edo. Aragua.
- Holotype: Temporarily in my collection, Monteforte d’Alpone, Verona, Italy, ♀, 24.IV.1999, sobre flor de Asplundia caputmedusae, leg. H. Escalona.
- Etymology: The name of the species means “Spermatheca of a buffoon or clown”, from the Latin scurra = buffoon and spermatheca, alluding to the similarity of the distal bulb of the spermatheca with the head of a circus clown with a ping-pong ball nose.
