Name

Benthomodiolus geikotsucola Okutani & Miyazaki, 2007

Holotype: NSMT-Mo-76703, 1 shell.
Type locality: Summit of Torishima Seamount, 30°55’N 141°49’E, 4020m.
Paratype: NSMT Mo-76704j, 1 specimen, same data as holotype.
Etymology: from Japanese geikotsu (whale bone) and Latin -cola (attached to).
