Type locality: On Xylocopa spec., Medan, capital of North Sumatra Province (Indonesia)

Tydaeus xylocopae, original combination (misspelled for Tydeus – correctly written in Oudemans' drawing).
Calotydeus xylocopae, subsequent combination used by Oudemans and listed by Buitendijk (1945: 323).
