Chiloglanis niger Roberts, 1989

Type locality: Menchum River below waterfall near Befang , Bamenda highlands, Niger River basin, Cameroon, western Africa.

Etymology: The specific epithet niger from the Latin for black, refers to the Niger basin as well as to the color in life.
