Name
- Cyrtopodion baigii Masroor, 2008
- Type locality: rocky foothills of the Khanbari Valley, Diamer Basha Dam Reservoir, Chilas, Astor District, Northern Areas, Karakoram Range, Pakistan (35º33'57N, 73º50'29E), at an elevation of 1181m.
- Holotype: PMNH 1965, adult male, collected just before sunset by Khalid Javed Baig on 6 July 2007.
- Etymology: The species epithet is a patronym honoring the late Dr. Khalid Javed Baig (1956-2006) for his contributions to the knowledge of the herpetofauna of Pakistan.
