Type locality: Thailand, Phetchabun, Thung Salaeng Luang NP, 16°37.531’N 100°53.745’E, MT 16-22 Nov. 2006, K.W.N. Yen, T1159A.
Etymology: "The name is in honour of the apidologist Doug Yanega who discovered the first specimen of this species in the collections of the California University, Riverside, and sent it to me for description."
