- Type locality: CHINA: Yunnan: Menglun Town: Xishuangbanna Nature Reserve, 21°57.445'N, 101°12.997'E, elevation ca 744 m.
- Etymology: This specific name is derived from the Chinese Pinyin ‘fēng lì’, meaning ‘pointed, sharp’, in reference to the pointed proximal cymbial outgrowth of the male palp; term in apposition.
