Type locality: SOUTH AFRICA, Plateau Hantam Mts., near antenna, 9 km N Calvinia, 31°22’29´´S 19°47’03´´E, 1570m.
Etymology: refers to the distinctive yellow-orange banding "striped like a tiger".
