Lethrinops mylodon Eccles & Lewis, 1979

Holotype: BMNH 1978.10.31.27. [Paratypes: AMNH 37904 (2); BMNH 1978.10.31.28-32 (5); MFRU (4, 1 skeleton); MRAC 78-32-P-9-10 (1, 1); QVMS 3800 (2); SAIAB (formerly RUSI) 8335 (2); USNM 218881 (2)].

Type locality: East of Monkey Bay, 14°04'S, 34°58'E, Lake Malawi [Lake Nyasa], southeastern Africa, depth 30-40 fathoms.
