Name

Levu Kirkaldy, 1906

Type species: Levu vitiensis Kirkaldy, 1906, by monotypy.

Diagnosis

The genus can be recognized by the combination of the following characters:

  • The forewings are smaller and more narrow compared to the species of Rhotana, Rhotanella and Dichotropis.
  • The facial carinae always meet in front of the eyes.
  • The forewings are powdered with 5 narrow costal cells (the powder is often lost in museum specimens).
  • In the forewing M leaves Sc+R usually near the base of the basal median cell.
  • Elaborate colour patterns on the forewings (like in Rhotana and Rhotanella) are missing.
  • The male pygofer has never prominent lateral projections.
