Lorryia superba Oudemans, 1925

  • Type locality: On Viverra sp., Ambon (Indonesia)
  • Holotype: Lost.

Synonyms

Notes

  • According to the list published by Buitendijk (1945: 323), Lorryia superba is only represented by drawings in Oudemans' collection.
  • The initial description is completed later (Oudemans, 1928: 229-231; with plate in page 230).
  • The description is based on a single specimen and the hypothesis that it could be an anomalous individual must not be excluded (Kaźmierski, 1998: 301; Kaźmierski & Sikora, 2008: 88).
  • The unique specimen is stated to be "abnormal" by Kaźmierski et al. (2018: 813). Similarly, Mondin et al. (2016: 474) "consider the single claw of L. superba an anomaly".
