- Holotype: MZUSP 16837, ♀; J. Coltro coll., August 2005.
- Type locality: Canopus Oceanic Bank, 120 miles off Fortaleza, 02°15.3'S-38°16.0'W, Ceara, Brazil, 252-260 m, rocky bottom, Fishing Vessel "Piaui VIII".
- Etymology: This species is named for Jose Coltro, in recognition of his continuous efforts to secure crustacean specimens caught during commercial fishing operations.
