Name

Type locality: Papua New Guinea, Southern highland province, E. of Mendi, Anga Gorge.
Holotype: BPBM , ♂, 14.X.1958, leg. J.L. Gressitt.
Etymology: This epithet is a compound of the latin adjective tumidus,-a,-um (swollen) and the latin noun rostrum (snout) and refers to the apically swollen rostrum.
