Lectotype: AMNH 5559, adult indet., skin with mounted skull. [designated by Avila-Pires (1965: 15)]

Type locality: “Camamú unweit Bahia,” Brazil; modified to “lower Rio Mucuri” by Avila-Pires, 1965: 15.
