Pareiorhaphis scutula Pereira, Vieira & Reis, 2010: 34

Type locality: Brazil, Minas Gerais, Nova Era, rio Doce drainage, córrego Prainha, tributary to rio Piracicaba, 19° 38’ 54” S, 42° 57’ 37” W.

Etymology: The species name scutula is from the Latin diminutive form of scuta, meaning plate, scute, in allusion to the small plates that cover the abdominal region of Pareiorhaphis scutula. A noun in apposition.
