Podanotum melanissimum Bálint & Wojtusiak, 2006
Type locality: Ecuador, Prov. Loja, Saragura via Las Antenas, 3200 m.
Holotype: MZUJ. male. 15.IX.2004. leg. Pyrcz & Wojtusiak.
Etymology
Melanin = the brown pigment in the scales on butterfly wings, which absorbs light. The name was used to signify that the wing dorsa are purely melanic.
