Type locality: 43°15.5'S, 173°58.1'E , Pegasus Canyon, northeast of Banks Peninsula, 932–960 m depth.

Etymology: The name nemnezi from the initials NMNZ, the National Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.
