Holotype: LSUMZ 13227, adult ♂, skin and skull.
Type locality: “Cerro Asunción, ca. 11,100 feet (3,300 m), provincia de Cartago, Costa Rica; ca. 09º34'05"N, 83º44'12"W (the coordinates define a place along the east side of the Panamerican Highway, just 0.4 km WNW of the peak of Cerro La Asunción — 09º34'N, 83º44'W).”
