- Syntypes: ANSP 1783 (1); MCZ 1781 (1); MNHN 0000-0446 (1); USNM 52 (orig. 7, now 1, plus 2 pharyngeal arches as #2665), 20225 (orig. 5, now 4).
Type locality: Sweetwater River, tributary to Platte River, Wyoming [not Nebraska], U.S.A.
