Holotype: BPBM 11756. [Paratypes: AMNH 39105 (1); BPBM 10338 (1), 11068 (4), 11673 (2), 11694 (1), 12480 (2), 12821 (2); CAS 44580 (1); MNHN 1966-0024 (1); USNM 175272-73 (1, 1)].
Type locality: Northeast of Matahumu Point, Fatu Hiva, Marquesas Islands, southern Pacific ocean, depth 12.5 meters.
