- Moniez (1894: 424) listed the six species assigned to the genus Tydeus, among which: Tydeus granulosus G. Can. On the next page, he wrote : "Enfin, le T. granulatus Canestr. G. est bien caractérisé...", the reference to "granulatus" probably resulted from a misspelling.
- "Synonymized" with Tydeus granulosus by Thor (1933: 29).
- Listed as "ancient species" by Kaźmierski (1998: 357).
