Taxonavigation
Taxonavigation: Bombycoidea |
---|
Superregnum: Eukaryota |
Family: Apatelodidae
Genus: Zanola
Species: Zanola verago
Name
Zanola verago (Cramer, 1777)
Type locality: Surinam.
Holotype: Male figured in plate 162 of vol. 2.
- Note 1: Female was later figured in vol. 4 plate 306 (D,E), text p. 34.
- Note 2: In supplement, plate 24 and text page 120, the caterpillar of Phalaena verago is supposed to be in fig. 6. But this does not correspond to what we know of the caterpillar of this genus, that shall be similar to what is given in fig. 2 of the same plate 24. On the other hand, the caterpillars of netrix and domina, both Bombycidae should be without hair, and are figured very hairy. Therefore, the caterpillars plates, at least this plate 24, appear as very messy.
Original Combination
