Etymology
From οὐδέ (oudé, “and not, not even”) + εἷς (heîs, “one”). Sometimes incorrectly stated as from οὐ (ou, “no, not”) + δείς (deís, “no one, nothing”), as a result of the later variant, οὐθείς (outheís).
