Inherited from Ancient Greek χιονίζω (khionízō). Synchronically analysable as χιόνι (chióni, “snow”) + -ίζω (-ízo).
Usage notes
This verb is normally only used impersonally (e.g. χιονίζει (chionízei)). Forms in other persons are very rare.
