Cognate with Old Uyghur [script needed] (jazuq, “sin, wrongdoing”); Tatar язык (yazıq), Kazakh жазық (jazıq), Kyrgyz жазык (cazık), Southern Altai јазык (ǰazïk), Uzbek yoziq, Khakas чазых (çazıx), Turkmen ýazyk (“sin, wrongdoing”).
