Old Armenian

Etymology

From *տիայր (*tiayr), from *տէայր (*tēayr), from *տէ- (*tē-, great) + այր (ayr). The first component is also found in տի-կին (ti-kin) and տի-եզերք (ti-ezerkʿ) and is of unknown origin.
