باس
Arabic
Etymology
Likely from Persian بوسیدن (busidan), though this is an onomatopoeia common in many languages, where the initial labial represents the protruding lips and the sibilant represents the smacking sound. Compare English buss, regional German Bützchen, Busserl, Latin basium, etc.
