- كِدْتُ أَذْهَبُ ― kidtu ʾaḏhabu ― I almost went
- to be about to do something (with أَن (ʾan) + subjunctive)
- كِدْتُ أَن أَذْهَبَ ― kidtu ʾan ʾaḏhaba ― I was about to go
- to hardly do something (negated, with following non-past)
- لَا أَكَادُ أَذْهَبُ ― lā ʾakādu ʾaḏhabu ― I will hardly ever go
