Borrowed from Persian کاغذ (kâğaz), from Sogdian 𐼸𐼰𐼲𐼹𐼰 (kʾγδʾ), 𐫞𐫀𐫄𐫔𐫀 (qʾɣδʾ). Compare to Gujarati કાગળ (kāgaḷ), Hindi काग़ज़ (kāġaz).
