From Sanskrit দৃষ্টি (dṛṣṭi, seeing, sight) or দৃষ্ট (dṛṣṭa, seen), from Proto-Indo-Aryan *dŕ̥ṣṭiṣ, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *dŕ̥štiš, from Proto-Indo-European *dr̥ḱtis.
