Latin
Etymology
From molliō, mollīre (with a change in conjugation), itself from mollis. The change in conjugation was probably influenced by or based on mollia panis ("soft part of bread"), from the neuter plural of mollis (“soft”); the original meaning would have been to soften bread by dipping and soaking or wetting it.
Verb
*molliō (present infinitive *molliāre, perfect active *molliāvī, supine *molliātum); first conjugation
