Possibly from *su-h₁ésh₂-ōr, reflexive pronoun of *swé (self) + *h₁ésh₂r̥ (blood), so literally “woman of one's own kin group” in an exogamous society. Another alternative combines *swé (self) + *-sōr (feminine-noun-forming suffix).
