Etymology
Morphologically from *greti (“to dig, scrape, rake”). From Proto-Indo-European *gʰrobʰos. Cognate with Gothic 𐌲𐍂𐌰𐌱𐌰 (graba, “ditch, trench”) and Old High German grab (“grave”).
Declension
Accent paradigm b or c. Russian reflects paradigm c or (dialectally) b, while Serbo-Croatian reflects paradigm b.
