abang/bang as a form of address: you (used to address an elder brother or cousin, a male friend (who is older than oneself is), a husband or boy-friend). Sometimes it is used with a name (Bang Samsul, Bang Amir, Bang Ahmad, Bang Zakir, etc). This address is used in Malay ethnics especially in the regions of Sumatra and Betawi culture.
