gurnjescu

Alternative forms

Etymology
Probably from a derivative of Late Latin grunnium (“snout”) (cf. Latin grunniō, grunnīre (“grunt like a pig”)), with the Aromanian suffix -escu. Perhaps from the variant form grunjedz, grunjari, from a Vulgar Latin *gruniāre. Alternatively, of onomatopoetic origin.
