From Proto-Germanic *hundaz, whence also Old Saxon, Old English, Old Frisian, and Old Dutch hund, Old High German hunt, Gothic 𐌷𐌿𐌽𐌳𐍃 (hunds). Ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *ḱʷn̥tós, from *ḱwṓ (dog).
