1. funny, humorous (such that it makes one laugh, feel merry)

   tēvs bija mācījis: ja tev nāk raudiens, tad lūko iedomāties kaut ko jocīgu ― father had learned: if you feel like crying, then try to think of something funny

2. funny, strange, bizarre (not normal, unusual)

   lidojot bija pavisam jocīga sajūta ― (while) flying, there was a very funny feeling

   viņš kļuvis tāds jocīgs ― he became so funny (= strange)

   jocīgs cilvēks... nopietns, pārāk nopietns, bet tād pēkšņi kļūst bērnišķīgs ― funny person... serious, too serious, but then suddenly he becomes childish
