resar
See also: resår
Catalan
Etymology
From Old Occitan [Term?], from Latin recītāre (“to recite”), present active infinitive of recītō.
Usage notes
In its original sense, resar meant to read an oration: hence a missa resada is a mass which is read rather than sung ("low mass"). It has come to be used in the sense of to pray, especially when referring to non-Christian religions, in preference to the verb pregar, which has taken on a more mundane sense.
