Cognate with Old Saxon wagan (Low German Wagen), Old Frisian wein (West Frisian wein), Dutch wagen, Old High German wagan (German Wagen), Old Norse vagn (Danish vogn, Swedish vagn). The Indo-European root is also the source of way and weigh.
