Patients Prescribed DES While Pregnant are at a modestly increased risk for breast cancer.
Patients Who Are DES Daughters are at increased risk for
- Clear cell adenocarcinoma (CCA) of the vagina and cervix
- Reproductive tract structural differences
- Pregnancy complications
- Infertility
Patients Who Are DES Sons are at an increased risk for epididymal cysts.
Patients Who Are Offspring of DES Daughters and Sons have no confirmed health risks. Research continues on the health risks for the grandchildren of women exposed to DES while pregnant.
