Angela Marr, MPH, is Acting Director of the Division of Analysis, Research and Practice Integration (DARPI) in CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control. In this role, Ms. Marr provides leadership to bridge science and practice in an effort to move the field of violence and injury prevention forward and leads a diverse portfolio of work that includes surveillance, data and economic analysis, information technology, policy research, evaluation, and technical assistance to state health departments. Prior to serving as the Acting Director, Ms. Marr was Branch Chief for the Practice Integration and Evaluation Branch in DARPI. In this role, Ms. Marr led a multi-disciplinary group of professionals providing expertise in public health practice, surveillance, evaluation and research.
Ms. Marr began her career in injury prevention at the state and local level before joining CDC as an epidemiologist. Before joining CDC, Ms. Marr worked for both the Alabama and Oklahoma State Departments of Health. She has a background in surveillance and program implementation. Ms. Marr received her MPH in Epidemiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health in 1996.
