CHOICES Curriculum―CD Package
CHOICES: A Program for Women About Choosing Healthy Behaviors is an intervention for nonpregnant women of childbearing age and is designed to prevent alcohol-exposed pregnancies by addressing risky drinking and ineffective or no use of contraception.
The CHOICES Curriculum includes CD-ROMs for each of the following: Facilitator guide, counselor manual, client workbook, and a training DVD with videos demonstrating components of the intervention.
These materials are designed for use by professionals trained in behavioral health counseling who will be conducting the CHOICES program. Please preview the materials to see if they are appropriate for your purposes before ordering.

CHOICES Intervention Fact Sheet [PDF – 344 KB]
This double-sided sheet describes the risks of alcohol-exposed pregnancies, how these risks can be reduced through the CHOICES intervention, and how the intervention research has been translated into and improves public health practice. Planning and Implementing Screening and Brief Intervention for Risky Alcohol Use: A Step-by-Step Guide for Primary Care Practices [PDF – 2 MB]
This guide provides a process and resources to help staff in any primary care practice to plan and implement alcohol screening and brief intervention (SBI) to reduce alcohol use, an evidence-based approach recommended for all adults, including pregnant women. FASD Competency-Based Curriculum Development Guide for Medical and Allied Health Education and Practice
This curriculum development guide is designed to improve prevention, identification, and management of FASDs and can be used to develop educational programs and materials in a range of formats based on the needs of learners. Based on seven core competencies, it is intended for use with medical and allied health students and practitioners.
