Acceptance of Applications for the Testing and Evaluation of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus for Use Against Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Agents

Subject: National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory Public Meeting, December 2, 2008

The NIOSH, National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL), will conduct a public meeting on December 2, 2008 to discuss current respirator standards development projects for powered air-purifying respirators (PAPR); air fed suits; and open-circuit, self-contained breathing apparatus, end-of-service-life indicators. The NIOSH Personal Protective Technology program action planning to address National Academies program evaluation recommendations will also be discussed. There will be an opportunity for discussion following NIOSH’s presentations and an accompanying poster session discussing PAPR.

The meeting will be held between 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. On-site registration will be held beginning at 7:45 a.m. You may also confirm your attendance in advance to this meeting by completing a registration form. You may register electronically or you can download the Adobe PDF form and send it by e-mail to NPPTLEvents@cdc.gov or fax it to 412-386-4089.

The meeting will be held at the Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh International Airport, 1111 Airport Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15231. Interested parties should make hotel reservations directly with the Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh International Airport by calling 800-233-1234.

This meeting will also be using Audio/LiveMeeting Conferencing, remote access capabilities where interested parties may listen in and review the presentations over the internet simultaneously.
