Designing and Delivering Relevant Public Health Preparedness Training: Adapting Tier I Training for State and Local Health Departments

Overview:

State and local partners identified a strong need for local adaptation of basic awareness entry-level (Tier-1) training in public health preparedness. Mountain West Preparedness & Emergency Response Learning Center (MWPERLC) collaborated with state and local public health professionals to make curricula more geographically and culturally appropriate by incorporating case studies, learning activities, and examples the target audience could identify with. During this webinar the presenters discussed MWPERLC adaption process from design to delivery, benefits of adapting curriculum for local use, and partner collaboration required to adapt courses.
